July 4, 1776. The Second Continental Congress of the thirteen United States of America makes their Declaration of Independence. The start of the second paragraph is one of the most famous phrases in history. “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
July 4, 2024. I reflect on the courage of those Representatives of the thirteen Continental Congress to mutually pledge their Lives, Fortunes and sacred Honor in declaring their independence, which allows me the freedom to pursue my own happiness and start my own business that will allow me to achieve unlimited success, if I am wiling to work for it. Very humbling.
In the United Kingdom it is their General Election day. Their first national election in almost five years. It will determine the House of Commons, which determines the government of the United Kingdom. It is nice to see my British friends exercising their freedom to vote for their government and determine their future. I have many close and dear friends in England, and the British humor is second to none.
For us in America, I hope everyone is able to go out and celebrate our independence and freedom with family and friends. Picnics, barbecues, the beach and fireworks. And of course, the famous Nathan’s hot dog eating contest in Coney Island, New York. Who will be the champion this year?
We are half way through the year. Time to focus on my business and make the second half of 2024 productive and profitable. I look forward to the Voyage.
Jordan that was a nice tribute to the 4th. I do like your “Happy Treason Day” graphic, it made me chuckle! Have a Great Week ahead!
Ken, that was from my British friends. I so love the British sense of humor, though beans on toast? Still getting used to that. I prefer biscuits and gravy (SOS).
A nice and concise post. A belated happy Independence Day.
Thanks. While my blog is focused on documenting my journey for other beginner’s to follow and learn from, I do like to recognize special occasions.
Happy Treason Day thats funny. Wherever you come from. Nice info on Indeoence Day as Well.
Thanks, Scott. I am in Kentucky and that was from my British friends. They have such wicked humor I so appreciate. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy vacationing in England so much. Plus their history and architecture.
Celebrating the courage of those who paved the way for independence while acknowledging the hard work needed to achieve personal success today is both inspiring and humbling. Here’s to a productive second half of the year, full of new opportunities and achievements! Enjoy the celebrations and the journey ahead!
Thanks, Sarah. Like I replied to Andy, while my blog is documenting my journey in hopes beginners can learn from me and be even more successful, I do take time out to recognize significant events. Looking forward to what I can accomplish this second half of the year. Of course, I derive inspiration from your posts on my journey.
