Labor Day – Optimism With The Start of Fall

September 2nd. Labor Day. The unofficial start of fall for me. My favorite season of the year. The changing colors of leaves, cooler temperatures, leaf covered trails, the smell of pumpkins, leaves and fires, and the upcoming holidays of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not only am I happy that my favorite season is here, I am optimistic about my business.

Labor Day, observed the first Monday in September, is a Federal holiday celebrating the social and economic achievements of the American worker. The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on September 5, 1882, in New York City by the Central Labor Union. In 1894, President Cleveland signed the law making the first Monday in September a Federal holiday (Dept of Labor – History of Labor Day, https://www.dol.gov/general/laborday/history).

Today Labor Day is celebrated with barbecues, picnics, boat parties on the lake and parades. It also signifies the unofficial start of the school year as most schools have been back in session and the last day many community pools will be open. Now our thoughts turn to fall and the upcoming holidays.

For me, my thoughts not only turn to the beauty of fall, but my renewed sense of optimism with my business. If you have been following me from the beginning (Feb 20), you’ve been with me on this Voyage for 7 months. I have created my owned asset (Blog) and email list system (Voyager Newsletter), as well as my primary social media platform (Facebook page), and will be creating a YouTube channel and FB Group. I also created a LinkTree to connect everything. Now I am ready to step outside my comfort zone and start creating niche-relevant and value-based content on my platforms to start reaching external traffic

Sophie had a wonderful video on August 22nd about building your business. I can be the best affiliate marketer in the world but if no one knows about me, no one will buy from me. I need to post content and become known for something I stand for. It takes time for people to notice you, then follow you, then trust you. Consistency is key.

In his August 27 video, Dean said that my audience is my path to income. Share the lessons I am learning and the steps I am taking. Yes, I have not made any money right now because I have been learning about affiliate marketing and creating my business. However, I am on the right track and am now poised to start reaching external traffic and building my presence online and getting known. I am optimistic about what I will accomplish these next four months and the following I can build. This is not a short term sprint, but a long term plan to achieve my ideal life. Are you ready to continue my Voyage with me as I journey into previously uncharted territory? Let’s go.
