Leap Day

Greetings and salutations on this Bachelor’s Day, or Leap Day, February 29th.

Today is historically the day when a woman can set aside tradition and norms and propose marriage to their man.

This is an Irish tradition dating back to the 5th Century when legend says St. Brigid of Kildare complained to St. Patrick that maidens had to wait too long for their suitor to propose. St. Patrick then decreed that on this quadrennial extra day of the year, women could propose to their suitors. In 1288, Queen Margaret of Scotland made this a law, and any man who declined the proposal of marriage on this day would have to pay a fine of a silk gown or a kiss. (credit: thicketpriory.co.uk)

While I’m certainly not expecting any fair lady to propose to me today, I AM breaking my own personal tradition and norms of my prior predictable and organized life and daring to step out of my comfort zone and take action on achieving my dreams with affiliate marketing, rather than safely wishing for it.

This is my second Blog post on my Voyage.  I have cast anchor from the sea bottom and starting my journey. I let life pass me by for the last year, but no more.

I am taking my leap of faith because I know what I want to achieve and I dream big. I am both trusting the process and trusting myself.

I have made many mistakes getting here, but that was part of my learning process. I cannot change my past, only shape my future by what I do today.

Follow me on this journey so you can vicariously learn from my mistakes and failures and apply my successes to your own business and life.

  1. Jordan,
Such an interesting story regarding Leap Year and ladies having the opportunity to propose marriage to their suiters. I bet that made some ladies very happy and maybe a few gentlemen also. Good for you for getting out of your comfort zone and setting sail on your affiliate marketing business. May your journey be be free of pirates, aka troubles. I am looking forward to following your journey.

    1. Sherri, thanks. Reading other people’s blogs, I was inspired to not only focus on my business, but incorporate current events and special occasions, coupled with some history to make it entertaining and educational. Trying to give more value to each post.
