I’m posting this week’s update from my room in San Antonio as I am here for a conference. I love San Antonio and always welcome a chance to visit. The Riverwalk, Market Square and of course, Mi Tierra’s.
However, my almost back to back trips, England 16-30 July and San Antonio 13-18 August, disrupted my momentum with my business. To the point where I feel a bit lethargic. Do you ever get that, where you wake up and are ready to seize the day but as the morning progresses, a bit of tiredness or laziness creeps in and suddenly you lose the motivation to accomplish those necessary tasks? Having your own business is a long-term commitment and challenging. I will have some setbacks or days where I am very sluggish. We all will. That is where being determined and persevering, and sometimes asking for help, helps you overcome that challenge and keep moving forward.
I went back to my Certified Partners Private Community and listened to Dean’s 29 July video – What are you willing to do to get everything you want? It was as if he made this video specifically for me. Normally, the hardest working people are not the ones getting the best results. You need to work smarter as well. Work on the right things and the right areas and do that consistently over time and it is impossible not to succeed. Dean related that when he goes into any week and is willing to do whatever it takes, it will often involve enduring setbacks and mistakes and asking for help. Being willing to go through the times you feel disheartened and frustrated. If you are willing to go through all of that you can get everything you want. It will be challenging and you will want to throw in the towel sometimes. You will be tempted to chase other shiny objects. Everything comes down to the Four Core Areas so you have to know and get good at them. While I did not feel like throwing in the towel, I did feel a bit frustrated and disheartened this week.
Every job I had I needed to learn new skills and practice them every day to get better at it. Same with affiliate marketing. I am learning new skills in the Four Core Areas and will implement them consistently over time to get good at my business and achieve success. As a reminder, the Four Core Areas are: Traffic, Capture, Follow-up, Sales system. I am currently working on generating traffic and implementing a system to capture that traffic. There is a lot to learn and understand and my hope is this Blog will make that learning process easier for you.
I found Sophie’s comments on the power of focusing on just one thing invaluable. Today it is possible to do many different things at once. We need to get back to focusing on one thing. Imagine if we focused on one thing for 30 days. Being obsessed with one thing very often allows us to achieve exponentially more than doing multiple things at once. I fully expect to be successful in my business and achieve my dream, but that requires becoming very good in those Four Core Areas. I am willing to put in the time to learn as much as I can about generating traffic and capturing quality traffic at this point. It is not about getting rich quick, it is about getting rich forever. It is not a race against anyone, it is our own voyage to build a successful business. With the training offered from the Accelerator Pro and Beginner’s Advantage programs, I am focusing on becoming one of the best in this area. I strive for excellence, not mediocrity.
Yes, I do have bad days and feel lethargic or discouraged. I’m human. You will too. It’s normal. However, having a good mentor makes a big difference. I can help you re-focus and give a renewed sense of purpose and determination. This is your life and you’re pursuing an opportunity to achieve the life of your dreams. It will not be easy at times, but it will be worth it. My England vacation truly brought that to life. Let’s focus on becoming good at our business and trusting the process. If you get discouraged, please reach out to me. I want to see you succeed. Let’s focus on working harder and smarter together. There is strength in numbers, especially on this voyage.
